May Day...

It's the first of May which means two things - it's the start of Me Made May and it's my birthday in 28 days.

I made this little wrap blouse about 2 years ago and for some reason, I always forget that it's in my wardrobe. I don't know why because it's a very sweet little top, but it does wrinkle like crazy! I got the fabric in a random bundle of fabrics from a thrift store back in NZ a few years ago, so I'm not exactly sure what it is, but possibly a cotton/rayon mix due to the drape and softness of the fabric.

I'm wearing it today with my self-drafted black circle skirt that I finished a few weeks back.

In other news, I finally finished my violet wrap dress last night. If I didn't already know how to do invisible hand stitching, I certainly do now! It will be making an appearance on the blog next week.

The pattern

Mid-construction

Finished lace hem detail

Check back on the blog for Me Made outfit post round ups on Mondays, but  during the weeks I will be posting them on flickr each day and probably on Instagram as well.

How is the first day of your Me Made challenge going?

  1. I recently bought that same blouse pattern! It's always nice to see things made-up. The polka dots are incredibly cute! Great outfit to kick-off the month!

  5. That blouse is lovely, it looks gorgeous with the circle skirt! I always find wearing skirts and blouses together so tricky because it's not often I find ones that look good together. I need to try harder :P

  8. You look great! I remembered today was May 1, so that's good, and I wore two handmade pieces, but I'm actually feeling more nervous now that I can actually get through the month...

Too bad you don't wear that blouse more often.I'm taking my first steps into sewing and drafting but I also love crochet and I also participate in me made May.
