Wearing - 40's Vogue dress
It's a strange feeling, being kicked from the inside. I've been feeling definite movements since about mid-week 19, and before that, possibly. Probably.
Every time I call David to come and feel the baby though, it turns into one of those bad comedy routines - the wee lad will always stop kicking as soon as David has his hand on my stomach. We hold our breaths and wait. Inevitably, we feel nothing and so David goes back to whatever it was he was doing, and BAM! I get kicked again.
David has managed to catch the baby a few times though, and this past week, we've actually seen the little kicks through my stomach. So weird. So.... much like a scene out of Aliens. In an oddly good and reassuring way.
By the time I'm due, I may hate them. But for now, we can't get enough of each other, and I expect you'll be seeing them a lot more during this series in the months to follow.
xx

This dress is gorgeous! Such a beautiful colour and perfect for maternity wear. I didn't yet sew for myself when I was pregnant but I wish I had - you get so over wearing the same stuff! Good for you :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!! I tried to wear a really non-pregnancy friendly dress the other day and it only just hit me how much my waist has moved! I'm pretty sure I'm going to be very sick of the clothes that I can wear during pregnancy :)
DeleteThis is such a cute dress! I have a question though - the pattern envelope calls for snaps or a zip. Does a jersey dress really need a closure like this? I can't see any sign of these in your photos, did you make a pull-over-the-head version? That's what I'd prefer, I think!
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather - there is a side zip, when you look at the front on photos it's on the right hand side (or my left), I put a lapped zipper in. I'm pretty sure you could get away with no zip though since the neckline is quite wide :)
DeleteIt is a dress that works well for pregnancy as well as for your original figure. I must get around to making mine up.
ReplyDeleteYou should! I wore mine a lot, even before getting pregnant :)
DeleteOh by the time I had my kids I hated everything I had worn during pregnancy. You are looking fabulously chic as always.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kat - I have a feeling I'm getting there already actually, yelp!
DeleteWow - you don't even look pregnant from the front! I love this dress on you. You can't go wrong with a good knit dress :)
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely! I've had my eye on that pattern for a long time. I go through stages where I think knit fabric is the best thing to ever happen and stages where it makes me cringe. Mostly I just love it because I get sick often and they are just so comfy and easy to wear. I love that this is a vintage repro pattern that uses knits :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you are having a smooth pregnancy and I wish you all the best! :)
This looks so cute on you... it did before, and even more so now!
ReplyDeleteI love this dress - looks gorgeous, the green really suits you Jen :)
