Me Made Maternity: Week 36 - Tired and All That Jazz...

Wearing - Vogue 8728 & vintage cardigan

Wow, week 36 already huh?

I'm not going to lie, I'm not entirely sure I'll be looking like the Duchess just hours after I give birth. But then again, I'm not planning on inviting my hairdresser to the Maternity Ward afterwards either, so, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Speaking of hair dressers though, I'm in pretty desperate need of a wee chop this week me thinks...

Thank you so much to everyone who chimed in with maternity bra advice in my last post! It seems you all have pretty much the same advice, which is to buy some soft maternity sleeping bras and then just wait and see. So, I have my marching orders - soft sleeping bras, here I come.

In other news, I feel like all I do is complain lately, but I am so-tired all-of-the-time. And I know it's not going to get any better, but hey, just like grunting like an old man helps, so does complaining, hehe. And it's really not all bad, promise.

If you're Felicity Sewing Along, er, you may have noticed a slight lapse in posts (see above paragraph). Apologies for that, I'm in the process of getting everything photographed, written up and scheduled so that I then don't have to think or stress about it too much any more. I anticipate being back on schedule early next week. I'm slowly ticking things off my long 'To Do' list. Slowly but surely.

Anyway, I'm rambling - I have absolutely no written cohesiveness today, and I honestly don't really mind.

Talk soon,

xx

  1. Ha ha! I don think anyone looks like the Duchess that close to having given birth, and I have say I thought a white dress a VERY brave choice!! I went home in my pj bottoms after my second because I couldn't bear the thought of putting on trousers (I had a section). Not long to go now. Just make sure you take some time to yourself soon, even of you do nothing with it.

    1. Hehe, I hadn't even considered the fact that white would be a brave choice!! I personally have no idea what I'll be going home in, but pj's do sound lovely and comfy, and to be fair, if I don't wear them home, I'll be in them as soon as I am home!

  2. No need to look like Kate Middleton right after birth. That poor girl has a pretty tough job, actually! In addition to being told you're a parasite on society and pointless figurehead all the time, the hours and family life/work balance SUCK. :-)

Definitely get your hair cut now, you won't want to take the time for a little while after baby comes. You look great!! Almost there!

    1. Hair cut is booked for Friday!

Yes, she does have a hard job, and the world is watching, which thankfully, I don't have. I'd totally be calling in my hairdresser otherwise, and possibly have a nice outfit to go home in planned :)

  3. You're totally allowed to complain. Your body is doing some miraculously difficult work and it takes it's toll. Anyone who's had a baby will know it's justified, and anyone who hasn't has no business telling you to stop complaining ;)

    1. Thanks Evie :) I mostly just moan to David and write all kinds of blog posts in my head that never make it onto the blog itself - which is probably a good thing.

I'm just very over the heartburn and the slow loss of natural movement I once seemed to have! It'll be back before I know it though, so, chin up Jen!

  4. Yeah I felt sorry for Kate, I definitely wouldn't have wanted a photo call in front of the whole world hours after giving birth!!! I had grand plans for what my newborn and I would leave the hospital in but when it came to it I couldn't have cared less. My second child was born at home so I just stayed in PJs all day 😊 Not long now, and you look fabulous by the way!

  5. I'm so sorry that you're so tired and I don't blame you at all! But if it's any consolation, you don't look tired at all- you look absolutely beautiful!

  6. Oh, I finished work around this time, so I can remember all too well... I didn't have time to reply to your maternity bra post, but Elle McPherson has a lovely soft maternity bras (and I see that Heidi Klum has really affordable similar ones now too - the Bendon shop in Australia always has great sales)

Because I had a bunch of Bonds maternity ones that I wore during pregnancy and by the time the milk came in, I couldn't wear them... I'd gone up at least 3 sizes. YIKES!

Relax now, but don't sit down too long! Try and keep mobile so that gravity takes hold!
