Hello hello....

How were your weekends?

Mine was O for awesome, thanks for asking :)

August 7 2010 8

I saw Neil Gaiman twice at the Opera House - first on Saturday night where he read a story with a string quartet and images by Eddie Campbell, and then again on Sunday where he had a panel discussion with Shaun Tan and Eddie Campbell (there was also a high tea thrown in with Individual Chic and her husband).

I'll tell more about each with photos of what I wore, but during Saturday-day, I wore this. I didn't realise how bright it was until I saw the photos :)

I decided to blow dry my hair (and have done for the past few days actually) because its so much easier to dry it out straight than to leave it curly - curly hair is so much more work! Especially if you want your curls to turn out nicely (and even then, it doesn't always work! As I'm sure those with curly hair will agree). I often have to leave the house with damp-icky looking hair in the morning because you can't completely dry your hair if you want your curls to set nicely.

I'm quite sure that I am back to somewhat regular posting now, and I am replying to emails (sorry for the wait!), and catching up on comments, and will be organising catch ups with lovely Sydney bloggers again :)

I will also be planning the re-opening of my shop! It will be somewhat different to what I used to do in terms of having readily available stock, but I hope that you all like it anyway.

What a great outfit! I love how bright it is. Especially the bright yellow cardigan! And those shoes are so cute!

I'm so envious you got to see Neil Gaiman, twice! I saw him give a talk/reading a few months back. Isn't he fantastic?

So I recently saw your guest post/interview thing about your stash on Tilly and the Buttons' blog, and I was wondering (seeing as I'm going to be setting up my own sewing space soon) - what are the dimensions of your sewing table/desk? Do you find it long enough/deep enough/tall enough?

Love the outfit. Neil Gaiman's been Twittering about Sydney, saying how amazing the visit was. I love the opening of The Graveyard Book - wow, that man knows how to write: 'The knife had done almost everything it was brought to that house to do, and both the blade and the handle were wet.'

I think this is my favorite outfit to date. But it may be because I am a sucker for deep blue and yellow! I love that you have whole outfits with no real neutrals it has been inspiring my shopping lately. I recognize those shoes, by the way, we used them in a production last year for a sassy secretary character.

I love your outfit! The mary janes are so cute.

I have naturally curly hair, and I AGREE THAT IT IS DIFFICULT! Finally someone who understands!! People seem to think that if your hair is naturally curly, then you just wake up with perfect curls every day. Ha!

Sorry. Had to get that off my chest. :P

Love the blue and yellow, one of my favorite color combos. :)

I have curly hair too, and I agree that its difficult. I always try different things, but usually end up with crunchy or frizzy, or both.

Your hair looks very nice like that! Yes, you never know what curls are going to do... I will think my hair looks great in the morning, but once I step outside all bets are off!

Lucky you for seeing Neil Gaiman!! And I love these pictures. :)

I LOVE this outfit. The colors are awesome!! So bright and fun. It's perfect in every way.

I'm totally with you on the hair front. It's so hot and humid right now that mine is downright wild. I love the ease of having it straight, but when it's this humid it's a losing battle. It will be curly by the end of the day. I've resorted to hiding under hats. Like I need an excuse to wear a hat. Ha!
