Give Away, Give Away...

I have just updated my shop with two new little skirts. Sorry for the long delay in updating, hopefully that should get more regular from now on.

Turquoise circle5

Navy Bow4
The Bow is removable too...

And, now, without further ado, it's time to announce my very first ever give away!

I am offering you the chance to win your very own, custom made Jennifer Lauren skirt. Yup, that's right, we will talk colour, style, embellishments (pockets, sashes, bows etc), length, width everything!

All you have to do is leave me a comment telling me why you should win.

Feel free to spread this far and wide - or not, because the less people that know, the less that will enter and the more chance you have of winning! It all makes perfect sense really...

I will be drawing the winners name out of a hat (how very scientific of me) a week from today and will announce the winner the day after.

Good luck,

XX

  1. Ooh, I want to win! I'm trying to add more whimsy to my every day wardrobe, and your skirts are PERFECT!

  2. Pick me! Pick me! Because I love dresses and skirts and my style is completely vintage and feminine and I will be a great showcase for your skirt.

Also I have a funny waist-hip ratio so a lot of store-bought skirts don't fit very well, and a custom-made skirt will just be amazingly awesome.

    Yay!

  3. aaahhh i love the one with the bow!!! oh boy I hope I win!

  4. Yay! I've been admiring your skirts for ages, unfortunately I don't have the funds to purchase them at the moment. I would LOVE a cute skirt for summer, though...

  5. Oh gosh, I love that first one! Well, in all honesty, why would I want you to make one for me in particular? Well, you don't have any larger sizes and I think you should give it a try ;)! A challenge maybe? Your stuff is adorable, I just can't wear any of it unless it IS...custom made :3!

  6. I love both of those skirts! I would love to win because finding unique things is becoming harder and harder to do and because I can never have enough skirts!!!

  7. Get OUT! I am in love with your skirts! Hmmm...I should win cuz I need a fabulous skirt like yours in my wardrobe. Thanks for such a fabulous giveaway!

  8. Oh!!! I'd love to win! Please include my name!!!

  9. Hm... Why do I need a skirt? Well, many reasons really. Every girl should have a few, and they're so much fun to pair with a variety of tights during the fall. I promise to wear it, love it, blog about it, and hang it on a proper skirt hanger. Your Dusky Rose skirt is one of my favorites, and love anything with bows!! All of your skirts seem very well made, and the details are so sweet. I'm a broke college student, so this would be a great opportunity to expand my fall wardrobe. :)

  10. I would love a new skirt because my favorite throw on and go skirt, as seen here: http://vintage-angelc.blogspot.com/2009/06/daily-outfit-240609.html, was ruined by a tailor. He made it way too short and also removed the white trim which I loved.

I'd love something to replace it and your skirts definitely come close to doing that, especially if it's custom. :)

Oh I'm also broke so a freebie would be amazing!

  11. Ooh! If I win, I'll post a pic of it on my music blog... And mention your marvelousness! My favorite is the turquoise one (turquoise even matches with my blog! See, it's meant to be!).

  12. These skirts look just perfect, but I have to say that the one with the bow really has a special something!

  13. I probably shouldn't win, because this is my first comment on your blog. But I live in Australia, so if I do win, shipping won't cost you too much, right? :p

But I've been reading this for a while now, and I think all your stuff is just lovely - simple but chic, and super-flattering to all body types. The mini-pockets on that aqua skirt above are so charming!

  16. Hmmm...let me think. I think I should win a skirt because I love skirts more than any other part of my wardrobe and would have a special place for it in my closet. I would find a way to wear it year round and never pair it with the same shoes and shirt if I could help it. I would treasure it especially because it was hand made for me and would one day pass it down to my future daughter, telling her about how much I love the skirt, so that she could treasure it as well.

  22. Oh yay! Everyone loves a giveaway!
I like the grey stripe one you did a lot, but the blue one in the post today has a beautiful length.
I should win because I love skirts, but can never find any I like. Curse the tight, denim mini skirts that evreyone loves!

  24. Can I just tell you how much I love the teal skirt and how angry I am that I'm so terribly broke?

    Winning a skirt you say?!
(well I guess to sound a little self involved)... it would be terribly awesome to have a one of a kind, hand made piece as those are my favorite type of things to purchase. Something unique that a lot of love and hard work was put in too. Plus it'll be a little piece of NZ for the U.S!

  38. Jen, what an incredibly generous offer!

I hope to win because I adore your skirts - the fabric and color selection is beautiful, and I love the construction and drape of your garments - but as my body is a great deal bigger than yours, I haven't been able to purchase one of your skirts from your store.

I've also been trying to save money since I'm in between jobs, so I'd be absolutely thrilled to win a custom made Jennifer skirt. :)

Can't wait to hear the results!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'd love to win one of your skirts! I've recently become obsessed with swing dancing and lindy hop, and one of your skirts (especially the teal circle skirt!) would look fantastic swirling around on the dance floor!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'm so excited about your giveaway! The skirts you make are just lovely, I especially like the little pockets on that Turquoise one, it is just the perfect little skirt! I would like to win one because I have been looking forever for the perfect little skirt and yours are just fab!
Haha, I agree, maybe it would be not to tell others about this...even though it would be selfish (but I would really like to win ;) )

  41. I should win because, like a few other commenters, I have a funny waist/hip ratio and often store-bought skirts look very strange on me. And I like skirts. Please, won't someone think of the children.

    Thanks for doing this!!

  43. Wow! your skirts are adorable! I'd want to win because I only wear skirts and finding cute ones that are just right is hard to do, and haven't bought a new one in so long! and I've never had anything custom made before!! So that'd be awesome! and one of a kind things are my ideal pieces to own! thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  44. mememe! Um, I should win because I actually only own one skirt. It's a bit sad I know but I whenever I look for new things skirts always slip my mind D: Nothing would beat a second skirt for my non existant collection which is personalised for me! <3

    ReplyDelete
  45. You have such great style! I love skirts and have been trying to wear them more often. I would love to win one first of all because you make such beautiful things, and secondly because my daughter would get a kick out of it. She is 2 and refuses to wear anything other than a skirt or dress. No pants for her! -Lucy

  46. I would LOVE to win! School started..which means all the lovely book and class expenses has made me utterly broke! Your skirts are all so marvelous and adorable..I'd dearly enjoy wearing one around!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I'm tall and love long skirts. This isn't easy to find... I'm picturing one that's tiered with ribbons running around it? Or whatever you're in the mood for. :)

    ReplyDelete
  48. OH! You're skirts are cute! I love skirts. I love feeling feminine in them. Lately I have been fancying high waisted skirts with cool belts. I would really like to win, but I can't tell you that I deserve to win anymore than anyone else here :) but yes... I would like to win! **smile**

  49. Those skirts are so cute! I need some motivation to start sewing my own skirts and dresses and I think you're skirts are a great motivator. Beautiful work!

  50. I've been a tomboy all my life, but discovering my interest in vintage fashion has really brought out my feminine side. I have an oddly proportioned body (an extremely long torso) and I've recently discovered that high-waisted skirts really help me feel more comfortable with myself. Unfortunately, I'm a poor college student with no money to spend on pretty clothes. I absolutely adore all your creations!

  52. I love your skirts, and if I win, owning one will make me very, very, excessively happy!

  53. Oh you make such cute stuff! I would like to win because your stuff is SO adorable and I have a super hard time finding things that fit in shops, being curvy and short.

Thank you for doing this giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Oh my... Well, I have just discovered skirts, but I'm having a dickens of a time find one that both fits AND has some sense of individual style. What a breath of fresh air your work would bring to my wardrobe! (And my hubby would be eternally grateful to you for helping keep me out of sweats!)

p.s. the pockets on that first one are just darling!

    ReplyDelete
  55. oooh, what an incredible giveaway! I've been admiring your skirts and would really love to win one, only because I'm not very lucky when it comes to contests cos I've never won anything really, as far as I can remember :)

    ReplyDelete
  56. Oh, I love the tea skirt! The pockets are just adorable!

I would love to win because I have recently gotten into WW2 re-enacting. I would love to have a skirt that has been made with care that I could proudly wear to all the events! I wouldn't mind turning a few heads, either! :)

    Thanks!

  57. I would love to win because the pockets on the turquiose skirt make me very, very happy! Thanks, Tami

  58. I would love to win because a nasty happening over this (southern hemisphere) winter has left me with some not-so-pretty scarring on my thighs. So I'm going to have to ditch my standard summer uniform of short-shorts and move to knee-length skirts. And yours sure are pretty!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Oh my goodness, count me in! Why? Because skirts are made for loving and therefore sharing! If I could wear a skirt everyday for the rest of my life I would! (But it gets verrrrry cold during the winter here! Ha ha.)

  60. Oh my! What lovely skirts you make! I especially like the blue one with pockets, I do believe pockets are an essential part of skirts. Perfect place to keep your treasures. I think I should win because I'm currently unemployed (sadly) which means I haven't been able to buy any fun new items off of etsy lately and I so want to! Also, we have a mutual bond of being redheads:)

    ReplyDelete
  61. I just found your blog and it's lovely! Your skirts are absolutely beautiful. I'd like to win because I've very few separates in my wardrobe.

  62. Thanks for doing this giveaway! I need a lovely skirt for fall and can rarely find skirts that I like that are long enough. I currently don't have tons of money and would love to win one of your lovely skirts!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Oh, how lovely! I just took a quick look at your etsy shop. You skirts are just wonderful.
I would really like to wear one of your pices. I'm a vintage lover and hardly ever wear trousers. Skirts are just more fun and feminine. One can never have too many skirts. :)
Thumbs up for me! Although I'm sure all my lovely contestans would also look quite fab in your creations.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I should win because the unemployment rate just topped 9% in my state. ha!

Seriously, I just love your work. So happy that Casey tossed me your way!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Yayay! I should win because I would love the skirt you made me the way I love chocolate, cake, cookies, kittens, and dancing. We would never be parted. And I would never let it languish in the back of my wardobe unloved and forgotten. We would be meant to be ;)

    xx

  66. I should win because I have less than fifty days until my final exams begin, and I am STRESSING to the max! And skirts always fix that, right? And then after that, I'll be a grown up university student (ooh, la la), and I don't wanna be the same girl from high school... and new skirts always fix that, right?

    ReplyDelete
  67. Oh my! Your skirts are pretty indeed..I should win because...I never had anything custom made for me!Ok, maybe a pair of pants, but that was like 7 years ago and I can't really remember it very well...I think they were some velvety bell-bottoms. Yes, I know it might sound strange, but each time the occasion would indicate going to a seamstress, I ended up asking all of my friends if they know a good one and the answer was no. Everyone complains that they have something in mind and the final result is always disappointing and not accurate...Wearing 90% vintage/thrifted items, I believe it must an awesome feeling to have something new, fitting your perfectly and basically your dream came true. A custom item is a treat that we should afford more often. But alas, who can tell my parents that? thanks for this wonderful chance!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Ooh, I want, I want!! Your style is so fantastic, and hard to find! I love that they are so ladylike and feel vintage. I'm drooling over everything!!

I'm not sure if all countries are invited to enter (I'm from the United States), but if we are, please enter me! Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Help me ad some spice to my wardrobe! PLEASE? hehe. Most mothers will get this, but with kids sometimes there is a lack of time to make oneself feel "pretty". The clothing I wear when I do get my chance to shine, needs to make me feel unique and lovely all at the same time. Your skirts are exactly the icing on the cake I need! (actually they are more the beautiful fondant used on a gorgeous wedding cakes!) Sadly I am very lacking for fun skirts. I would love to wear more skirts, but I am very picky about the style of them and never seem to find just the right one. I would feel honored and SUPER lucky to be able to wear one of your skirts! I know there are so many people to choose from, but let me add, pretty please with whip cream and a cherry one top?? :)

    ReplyDelete
  70. Oh I really like that navy one with the pink bow - what an unusual colour combination!

As to why I should win a skirt - well, two reasons really. One is that I've been traveling for the past 4 months with only one backpack and therefore a VERY limited wardrobe, and am sick of it already! (and still have about 6 months to go, argh!) The 2nd reason is because all your skirts are so lovely, and look so lovely on you, and who in their right mind wouldn't want to look as lovely as that??!

    ReplyDelete
  71. my computer went bung when I tried to enter this on the weekend and look at all the comments now. Why shoud i win..... well because i am a huge huge fan of your skirts! and I would love it ever so dearly and take good care of it and give it a lovely home. And I would give it a name, I would name it lola - like from the coca capana because although your skirts are incredibly sweet, they are also a little sassy (just like you).

    ReplyDelete
  72. HA, I'm pretty sure I won't win, due to how many comments you've gotten on this already.
    But who knows?
Maybe luck is on my side.
I think I should win because I literally do not own a single skirt.
    Like, literally zero, zip, ziltch,
I think my first skirt should be unique and super cool.
Also, I flipping love your style.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Oooh, I would LOVE to win!!!! The skirts are so gorgeous, and I would LOVE to rock them!!

    ReplyDelete
  74. I would love to win this for my son's best friend. She loves everything vintage. She is a great designer and loves to sew. She is only 16.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Hello!

I would like to tell you a joke.

So two drums and a cymbal fall off a cliff. Ba-dum ba che!

So, I guess, I will put down a reason as why you should pick me, because being silly isn't reason enough: I'm a college student on a tight budget with absolutely no vintage culture where I live, and your skirts are the perfect solution. But I think that you should pick the person who deserves it the most, and take no heed of me. (except hopefully you laughed at the absolute stupidity of my joke.)

    ReplyDelete
  76. I can never find exactly what I like and everything's always too long! :)

    ReplyDelete
  77. I wanna win! So baaadlyyy! I'm normally not a skirt girl.. But your skirts are to knee length so my scars on my knees wont show that much.. xD And I love them, I love the style! They are so classic and beautiful!
I need a skirt like that..

    ReplyDelete
  78. If I won your beautiful skirt...
I would choose a lovely shirt.
    To complement its lovely style
and bring out my feminine wiles!

If I won your fabulous skirt...
With my husband I would flirt.
I would wear my hair in curls
and dance around in swingy twirls.

If I won your designer skirt...
On my blog I would so assert
post a picture, adding a link,
and tell the world to give you a
    WINK!

    ReplyDelete
  79. I'd like to win because free things are great, especially when I have little to no money. And yours are rather unique with the bows and pockets. :)

    ReplyDelete
  80. I would love to win because I need a happy addition to my wardrobe.

    ReplyDelete
  81. i feel like i should win because i think i would be able to wear it in ways that would make you proud! :D

  82. woow such cute skirts.. i would love to win cuz my birthday is on the 13th of september and i have terrible luck! Plus I have fat knees and your knee-length skirt (plus huge bow) would take all eyes away from them

    ReplyDelete
  83. I should win because I just went off to college, spent all of my money on books, and I have been forced to a life of sweat pants and I need something pretty to cheer me up and remind me of the days when I would wear vintage, heels, and skirts everyday.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I am wearing skirts more than ever lately - it's kind of sick how averse I am to pants these days. I *just* found the perfect winter shoes to wear with skirts, which means I have to start acquiring some kickass winter skirts (since last winter I wore mostly pants) and yours are totally lovely!

    ReplyDelete
  85. Your skirts are AMAZING! I have been trying to update my wardrobe and take myself to new chic and grown up places in college. I wore uniforms in high school...and I feel like I'm finally learning how to actually dress and develop a style! I would love to have one of your lovely lovely skirts to add to my attempts at being finally fashionable!!

    ReplyDelete
  86. Groodness Gracious! Those skirts look A. May. Zing.
Ain't that the truth. I love skirts (especially the vintage-y, girly, flattering ones such as yours) because they freak out the people in my Midwest town who seem to think that sweatpants and crocs are acceptable school-wear. NO! I refuse to stoop so low! I am a college student with no money who likes to look cute anyway. Please, help a girl out!

    ReplyDelete
  87. I'd love to win one of your amazing skrits, especially since I'm pregnant and struggling a bit to find skrits that fit under the growing bump.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Ooh, I'd like a skirt, since I actually never wear pants, an additional skirt would be super!
