Thanks for all your lovely comments about the dress - I am currently hoarding a mass of little vintage summer dresses, and I really want to wear them but need to figure out how to make them warm. I have a terrible habit of buying for the wrong season, which I think I've mentioned before - I like buying summer things when its winter and winter things when its summer. The only problem with doing this is that I want to wear everything straight away and then when the weather is suitable for the things I've bought, I tend to forget what I have in the first place.
Does anyone else do this?
I'm still a busy bee at work right now and will continue to be until the end of next week. There has been very little sewing for the shop, but I plan to make some time this weekend as I have some custom orders that I'm very excited about doing - they are my first customers after all.

my grandmother and i used to shop out of season all the time; you get the best deals that way!

I never had such experience because I live in tropical country - means we only have dry or raining seasons, and the sun is shining everyday in the whole year! Haha. Sometimes I wonder what it's like to be in four-seasons country... Must be very interesting!
I also buy for the wrong season and want to wear the clothes right away! I didn't know if anyone else did that. haha.
That white dress is beautiful, though, and I love it layered like that!

Adorable dress! I also have that same seasons habit - I never seem to want to wear weather-appropriate clothes! You can wear summer clothes in winter if you layer them properly. :)

Oh yes, I have been shopping for winter for MONTHS and it's the middle of summer here! But then, winter is the dominant season where I live, so I think of it as stocking up.

I keep buying fall things that I convince myself in the moment are actually summer dresses. One was linen, so I thought it'd be OK... but it's a heavy dark brown linen. Argh! But I'm always more inspired by fall and winter fashion. That is a very cute dress!
