Hello Again...

7th May 2009

Sorry for being such a slack blogger these past few days – I haven’t posted, haven’t replied to comments and I’ve felt very uninspired, which I’m sure I can put it down to a few things.

1) We have a show opening on Wednesday next week – it’s in its 115th year! We have the tech weekend for it this weekend and there have been one or two slightly stressful things that have occurred to make it more stressful than it should have been.

2) The opening of my shop is looming!! It’s gotten to the point where last weekend I was feeling so over whelmed by things to do for the shop that I didn’t do anything!! I watched Ghost Whisperer and ANTM most of the weekend – how unproductive!!

So with that said, I’ve decided to push the opening date back a month to the end of June. I instantly felt better after I made that decision, and actually felt like I could focus my attention on specific things for the shop instead of starting one project, getting bored and feeling a little stressed that I won’t have enough stock for the shop and so moving onto something else. So, you’ll just have to wait just a little bit longer for the shop to open – and I hope it won’t be a let down after I’ve made you wait so long!!

I'm sure no one will mind waiting a little longer! :) Sometimes when trying to work on a project it does get a little overwhelming, but I think we're hardest on ourselves - no real pressure from anyone else, right? A weekend off is well-deserved!

Sounds like a good idea to take some more time so you're not too stressed. Love this dress! And I'm almost ready to send your parcel out, am just collecting a couple more wee things. :)

I'm sorry to hear you've been feeling overwhelmed! It is completely understandable though, considering the endeavor you're taking on. Allowing yourself extra time to focus and make sure everything is just right is very important. I hope the extra month helps :)

Gorgeous dress! You look fabulous!

I don't see red hair and red clothes look good very often, which makes this outfit super fabulous :)

Don't feel bad about not working on your shop! It's all yours, so it should happen on your time. Take your time and enjoy it. :)

I love this dress! I'm such a pushover for tons of buttons. The neckline is fabulous, too. Is it double layered?

Lots of luck for your show! I hope it's a grand success!

Jen, even when you dress simple things you look amazing. The dress is pretty cute! Simple and classic, but elegant.

You should never feel bad about giving yourself more time...I always overestimate how much time I actually have and underestimate how much time it takes me to do something.

You're doing the right thing - pushing yourself to open the shop would just cause undue stress. Hope the show goes off without a hitch!

Love that dress! & I'm sure the wait will be worth it.

I think moving the shop opening date was a good idea. Starting your etsy shop should be a fun and enjoyable experience, not something that stresses you out and makes you feel pressured.
