You: Really? What?

Me: Um….

You: What?

Me: *Awkward Silence

You: What?? $#!!&*

Me: Okay, okay….*Deep Breath*…I wear glasses!

Pause for silence.

You: No you don’t.

Jen

PS) I’m really much more blind that I think I am – I really should be wearing my glasses ALL the time and as I’m sitting here typing they are tucked safely away in my bag and I’m staring at a lovely blur that I can kind of make out. I wear them all the time at home to read, sew, watch T.V, see movies etc and I must wear them when I drive (says so on my license - well from what I can see of it, tehee). However, as soon as I’m in public I have this really weird thing about wearing them, if I’m walking around with them on I feel strange, for absolutely no reason. Everything is so much brighter with them on and sometimes it’s almost too bright for my poor little eyes.

I do have contacts but they are a pain to get in, in the first place and then they make my eyes all dry and sore – I can’t have them in for too long or I get sleepy, and they are expensive!! I have to get special ones because my eyes are shaped weirdly.

PPS) I’m not sure if there will be a “Jen Writes a Bad Script" Part 2 or Part 3.

PPPS) I should totally quit my day job and write scripts – don’t you think?

PPPPS) You guys are far too lovely for words - you inspire me so much every day and make me feel all warm and happy when I read your comments :)

PPPPPS) Okay, that’s just me pushing it!! I’m going now.

Two things I wanted when I was a little girl: two wear glasses and have braces on my teeth.

I had a pair of aqua-colored, lense-less, 1960's cat-eye glasses with rhinestones in the corners that I would wear all the time. And then I would bend a paperclip out - one of those brightly colored plastic covered kind - and clip off the ends and fit them over my front teeth. I was so cool.

I've never had to wear glasses (I'm thankful now), but I did get braces and I loved them. I felt so hip and important. Am I weird for that?

I have a confession to make too:

I wear glasses! I've got only a few pictures online with me in them, but I tend to stick to contacts on a daily basis. ;) You look adorable wearing those--so chic!!! Love the rest of your outfit as well, especially the shoes. Cute!

I loved your little script. Very cute. I sometimes wish I wore glasses because they can be so stylish... But I can't imagine how I would handle that. I am always losing my sunglasses and finding them as I step on them.

I'm pretty chronic about wearing my glasses too, although I'm not as blind as you are :D I more wear them as an accessory - when I feel the urge to go all sexy librarian :D

Oh my goodness I love this post! You look SO GOOD in glasses (you look SO GOOD without them, too) - and those glasses are fantastic. But honestly, if you hadn't mentioned the glasses, I would have only noticed that awesome outfit - the blue shoes!! the vest!! the understated ruffles on your shirt!!

Again, I love this post.

I wear glasses too! I just almost never wear them when I take photos of myself. I've tried wearing contacts, but you're right, they're such a PAIN.

btw, love the blouse!

I'm a glasses girl, too! I need them mostly for driving at night or seeing far away. I actually like mine. I use that same trick of converting them into a style accessory. :)

I think you look lovely in your glasses! You don't have anything to be ashamed of in any way!

I'm amazed to see you in pants. I love how you dressed up the jeans. The vest is perfect!

Well, I, for one, think you're lovely in those specs!

I wear glasses! Not that you can tell from my blog either as I don't think they have ever made an appearance. I will admit to wearing my contacts almost all the time.

I love this outfit on you. So different but so you! Cute Cute!

You look good with your glasses on, but I understand about feeling weird wearing them in public. I'm the same way with my glasses sometimes. Your little script is cute :)

Love the outfit too. Look at those little ruffles on the sleeves of your blouse!! :)

You are too adorable!

(I wear glasses too, not that anyone ever sees me in them!)

Wot wot for the glasses. I'm the opposite. I live in my contacts. But they are a pain sometimes and glasses are so comfortably.

Your glasses and slippers are adorable :)

I love all the PS's :) I wore contacts for years but just switched back to full time glasses recently. The clincher for me was getting prescription sunglasses. Now I love wearing glasses and probably wouldn't want to go back to contacts

Your frames are really cute--you should definitely wear them more often! I've had terrible vision since I was little and I finally got tired of my glasses, so now I'm totally used to my contacts. But now it seems like glasses are cool again...

Hi there-yay, welcome to the 'glasses club', LOL! I gave up my contacts years ago, they're just too fiddly! You look gorgeous anyway and love your casual chic outfit!

Well, Paris is a must see for such a stylish chicky like yourself! I get back to NZ in the middle of April- I've had a blast, but for me it was mainly to re-connect with family and old friends and I'm ready to move on and do some travel elsewhere- am thinking Asia for the next adventure! I will be home for a bit- am considering a post grad dip in Journalism- I see you are in PR- I loved your post on the beach wedding and all the hiccups! I can just imagine! ANy advice on the journo courses in NZ? Where did you study?
My advice is to try and line some work up before you go- or at least do a lot of groundwork. It is a tough time to get work over here, and my partner really struggled- even to get crappy part time stuff!! I was nannying, so it was a bit easier, but still lots of competition.... Let me know if you want any further advice :)

I love the shoes! I'm searching for some spring shoes in that color, but I wasn't very lucky.I'll keep searching. They give so much color to the entire outfit! PS: I added you to my blog roll...I hope you don't mind.

Cute outfit too. You're one of those rare breeds that look good in glasses lol.

Heres to a sunny mon!

glasses should be obvious. they should be ostentatious. they should not be subtle.

You have the perfect figure for them - you look hot!

And you really suit your glasses, you make them look sexy, I love it.

Oh my goodness, you sound exactly like me! I need glasses to drive, and I need to be within two feet away from the computer screen to see it, yet I always insist not wearing them out. :) Glad I am not the only silly one.

If it is any consolation, I think you look fabulous in glasses!

I am so glad I have found your blog - thank you for commenting on mine and for your sweet words! Yes, I do jewellery designing/handcrafting full time. At the moment a lot of my profit is still going back into the business, but I don't mind cutting back other things to do something that I enjoy.

Your work is great!
