Its Getting Cold...

12th March 09

Thank you all so much for your words of encouragement, and sorry for being so cagey about what happened at the start – let me just say that I really do dislike the media at the moment. They seem to be so one sided in their reporting and deliberately get things wrong to create a media storm and aren’t in the least bit interested about any of the positive things that happen, because that just doesn’t sell!

Onto a completely different topic, after our non-existent summer, Autumn has hit full force. It’s FREEZING!! Time for woolen skirts and tights and snuggling in scarves, gloves and boots, and while Autumn is my favourite season with its pretty red, orange and yellow leaves, I feel duped out of my summer. All I can think about are pretty summer dresses and long sunny days and it doesn’t help that some of my favourite bloggers are in the northern hemisphere and currently looking forward to Spring.

I mentioned in my last post that I bought some red lipstick just because I could on the weekend, and as strange as this sounds, I’m really not too sure whether red heads actually suit red lipstick. I do really love the look of it and those with dark hair just look stunning, however I think it’s much trickier for those of a fairer and redder disposition. I have a red skin tone and with out powder, red lipstick just brings out all the badness of being rosy! So what’s your opinion on my lipstick? And if you are a red head too, what colour lipstick do you suggest? I’d love to hear all your tips and tricks! (and I may have gone over board on the kissing pictures!!)

Love the stripey top! And the patterned tights!

I like the red lipstick on you. I don't wear lipstick of any kind right now so I don't have any tips to offer. Sorry! But, Casey of Casey's Elegant Musings just did a terrific post about a week ago about her favorites, if you'd like to take a peek. She even did a video!

Mocha is really cute! :)

Thanks for the comment on my blog! I can see Mocha is very sleek and lovely - Fatpuss should take a leaf out of her book. Dying now to know what this international incident was though ....

That red lipstick is gorgeous on you! I think it's a nice change of pace, especially with the more monochromatic outfit. :) It's very fresh and brings out the pink in your cheeks!

I love that outfit - the shoes go so well with it (I'm itching for a pair of shoes like that, but you've given me new insight into how they can be worn). Great shade of lipstick, too!

I really like this outfit you have on in these pictures, love the patterned tights with the striped top combo!

As for the lipstick, I actually think you pull the red lips off really well! It makes your eyes stand out by contrast and looks really good on you!

It IS very strange to hear your embracing fall weather when on this side of the globe all I can think of is spring, spring, spring and how it can't come soon enough!

I think the lipstick looks great on you! Your woolen skirt is perfect. I looked for one all Winter in various thrift shops and just couldn't find the right one. Aw, Mocha! So cute. I really miss having a cat.

Hah, SO cute! And as a fake redhead for a few years now in many shades, I'll offer that I think red lipstick can look really stunning on someone with SUPER dramatic bright little orphan annie shade red hair... Like Nicole Kidman in Moulin Rouge. If you'd ever consider dying, I don't know, perhaps you're less shameless than I am :~) But the most important thing for red lipstick is big lovely lips and you got'em!

I think the red lipstick looks lovely with your complexion and your lil' nose piercing is super cute too :)

Love the red lipstick! It really suits you. I dye my hair red (but I'm freckled and green-eyed and I had reddish hair when I was very young), so I hear where you're coming from. I go for a browny-red, like a brick colour, which looks very red with my skin.

Orangey-reds make me look red in the face.

Your kitty is so sweet. :)

Thanks for posting on my blog!
