It’s a dreary Friday here today - gosh Friday already? Is anyone else having troubles with the fact that it’s nearly the end of January? Where did it go? I’ve been trying to figure that one out since Monday when I realised that this week was the last week of January! Eek!
Work land has still been very busy but with not so many bad things to deal with like last week and I’ve been a somewhat good blogger and posted regularly this week, pats on the back for me.
Do any of you recognise the dress above?
It used to be this dress:
I was planning on dyeing it in October last year and bought the dye and everything except that when I got home I realised I hadn’t bought the fix to go with it. I went back to the shop only to discover they were out of the fix, so over several months I went back regularly only to be told that it was on order. I finally ended up getting it in January this year and only just got round to dyeing it last weekend. It’s supposed to be navy (hmmm) and I just need to decide whether I like this colour or want it slightly darker. There are a few unnoticeable spots where it’s not quite even but other than that I really do prefer it the darker colour, I’ve not worn this dress since my first post on it and I think it was because I was still a little unsure of whether the original colour washed me out.
Right, onwards and upwards to some bloggy awards and tags – Hoorah!
First up - Awards.
The Lovely Ana of On Dressing Up gave me 2 awards, the Proximidade award and the "I Love Your Blog" award and I'm being spoilt because the ever so stylish Eelie also gave me the Proximidade award!!

The Proximidade award has a small write up that goes something along the lines of:"Blogs who receive this award are "exceedingly charming," says it's authors. This award is a fine one because it focuses not on the glory and fanfare of blogging, but in the PROXIMITY to one another through this online-world.
"This blog invests and believes in the PROXIMITY-nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement! Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut even more friendships are propagated.
Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this clever-written text into into the body of their award."
So the lucky people recieveing both (or all three) are - drum roll please...
Everyone on my blog roll!! Is that a cheaters way out or what? Also, I am sooooo slack about updating blog links, I honestly don't even think about it half the time, so if you would like to link swap please let me know and I'll get around to it, just you watch!!
I've also been tagged twice - once by the Lovely Emily from Resplendent Tranquility with the 4 Things Tag,
Rules:
1. Go to the 4th folder in your computer where you store your pictures.
2. Pick the 4th picture in that folder.
3. Explain the picture.
4. Tag 4 people to do the same!
I'm rather unimaginative when it comes to naming folders - I have a selection of folders called Pics, Pics2, Folder, Folder1, Folder (1) etc which makes it awefully hard to find pictures, but its just the way I am.
So my picture turned out to be this!! Its a picture I found on another blog yonks ago before I even started blogging myself. I have a habit of saving pictures I like and I just happened to really love this lounge, but I can't for the life of me remember whos lovely lounge it is we happen to be staring at. If its yours, do let me know, I love it!!

And by the lovely Casey from Noir Girl to share my top twenty classic film actors - this is a HARD one though and so I may take a bit more time to think and compile :)
Happy Weekend Peeps,
XX
Jen
Ps) Some of you wanted a better picture of my vintage black leather oxfords, I really don’t know why my blog cuts photos in half sometimes, its very annoying, but here they are...

Huge improvement, I think! That smokey blue-grey is lovely on you.
Ooh Jen, I love the cut of that dress! I made a corduroy jumper that has that same kind of cut. Gotta say though, I'm not a big fan of gray. I vote for darkening it. I think I'll have time enough to wear gray when I get old. ;)
Congrats on the awards! You certainly deserve them. Thanks for the link! I'll be happy to swap links with you, if you like.
Don't make it any darker! That color suits you perfectly!
I could easily live in that lounge. I really like the tree appliques on the wall!
The structure of your dress is perfect! I need to find something similar. The dye job came out nice, even if it wasn't the color you were initially going for.
Beautiful job on the dress, I love the new colour.
Great change to the dress, I love the new color and agree with Andrea that you shouldn't go darker with it - it's lovely! -S. of academichic.com
Really nice outfits!! And, you're pretty too! :D
That is such a huge transformation, the new colour looks incredible on you! It's so much edgier than the beige! & I admire your tenacity in finding that fixer, I'm never that dedicated to my craft projects... I think that explains a lot, actually. I really like the dress on you now & think you should keep it this colour for a while at least - you could always dye it darker later, but getting it light again could be a problem!
Hi there-I really like how the dress is now, the blue tone really does suit your colouring! Have a wonderful weekend my dear!
Hello!! thanks a lot for visiting my blog! I have the same feeling too, we're about to start february! i cant believe it either, it was so fast! Btw, I love the way your dress look now too, I love blue! greetings!
I love that scarf you're wearing and the dress looks really great dyed the new color!
I love the dress in that pale, dusty blue. I say leave it! I mean, so long as the stains aren't peeking through ...
I really like the new color of your dress :).
Wow, I absolutely love the dress-dyed and undyed--the shape is just great. I do think the blue gray is very lovely!

impressive dye job. i like it better in grey too, but i can't decide between grey and navy. i think both would be nice.
